Dr Hazel Fernandes
Dr Hazel Fernandes is a highly skilled Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a wealth of experience spanning more than 25 years. She has a deep understanding of the important role that prenatal and post-natal factors play in shaping children's mental health into adulthood. Her belief in the significance of attachment and caregiving during early development forms the bedrock of her treatment approach.
Dr Fernandes adopts a compassionate problem-solving approach to help her patients overcome adversity, focusing on developing an order of needs which emphasises resilience in both children and their caregivers. Her treatment plans incorporate psychotherapy and pharmacology, aiming to establish a strong therapeutic alliance with her patients and their families.
Dr Fernandes strongly believes in the saying, “Charity begins at home”, and works tirelessly to support her patients in achieving this balance.
