Dr Adela Mrkaljevic

Dr Adela Mrkaljevic is a skilled counselling psychologist who has over eight years of clinical experience working with NHS Trusts such as East London NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Haringey and private practice in residential mental health services and trauma-based charity organisations.

Currently working with patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD and self-harm, Dr Mrkaljevic has extensive experience helping clients with life issues such as grief and relationship problems. She is particularly interested in helping clients with anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, low self-esteem, OCD, panic attacks & panic disorder, personality issues, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and self-harm.

During her career, Dr Mrkaljevic has developed specialised knowledge and skills working with survivors of domestic violence and childhood sexual abuse. She also has expertise in the psychological aspects of illness and health conditions.

Dr Mrkaljevic also uses a range of tools in order to provide the best possible therapeutic experience for the client, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), brief solution-focussed therapy, mindfulness techniques, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and humanistic/person-centred. This enables her to tailor the therapy to meet each client’s unique needs and develop a safe therapeutic relationship where she can strengthen her client’s ability to tackle problems.

She is registered with the Health Care and Professions Council and an accredited member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
