Dr Guy Stewart
Dr Guy Stewart is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in child and adolescent mental health. With over a decade of clinical experience, he has expertise in various NHS settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialist services. His relaxed and approachable manner helps put patients at ease, facilitating the development of strong therapeutic relationships.
Dr Stewart's approach aims to fully understand the world in which his patients live, focusing on how external factors might shape their experiences and influence their problems.
He grew up in rural Cornwall and took a meandering route into psychiatry, starting his career in print journalism and teaching overseas before moving to London to study graduate medicine and then working as a Junior Doctor and Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist in the NHS before joining Clinical Partners.
Growing up, Dr Stewart's early personal experiences with child and adolescent mental health services inform his practice today, giving him a rounded view of how mental health services can be both beneficial and challenging.
Whether the appointment is a diagnostic assessment or therapeutic intervention, Dr Stewart adapts his approach to everyone he works with and feels very lucky to be able to use his expertise to help young people and their families understand their problems in order to move forward.
